On Thursday 23rd Feb, the college hosted a Learning & Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) Regional Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Network meeting in the Regional Science Centre Oldham (RSCO). Led by the LSIS Regional STEM Coordinator Heather Aspinwall and OSFC staff, the day was attended by Chemistry and Physics teachers from Sixth Form and FE Colleges across the North West.
The focus of the event was on sharing effective practice in teaching and learning and workshops showcasing innovative ideas and resources were delivered by two OSFC tutors, Kathryn Kirkham and Ana Soldner-Rembold. The Royal Society of Chemistry and Institute of Physics also held workshops in their respective areas.
Assistant Principal, Alan Matear, said "We are delighted to have been able to host this event sharing ideas with and learning new strategies from colleagues. To be able to host such networking events in a fantastic facility as the RSCO is a real pleasure for us and something we hope to have the opportunity to do again."
